DEBRA L. HUNTER, CPM   

 

PRESIDENT & CEO

 

Debra L. Hunter has had over 30 years experience in the multifamily management of condominiums, townhomes, apartments, cooperatives, and homeowner associations; in addition to the development of new multifamily housing and conversions to condominiums.

 

From 1983 to 1986, Ms. Hunter served as Director of Operations for The Angelus Plaza, one of the largest multi-family properties in the country.  The Angelus Plaza consisted of 1,093 units in three high-rise buildings, with an adjoining 50,000 sq.ft. Resident Clubhouse, located in downtown Los Angeles.  Ms. Hunter established Operating Procedures and Policies, and was responsible for daily operations including the supervision of more than 60 employees.  She was instrumental in the selection and implementation of the Honeywell automated HVAC/Life Safety system installed in 1982. 

 

Prior to joining Diversified Realty Group in March 1996 as Executive Vice President, she was a Regional Manager for First Merit Venture in Chicago for 10 years, responsible for portfolio administration of nearly 1,800 apartments.  Ms. Hunter was responsible for contract administration, including development of Management Plans, Tenant Selection Plans, Employee handbook, Company forms and procedures, rent increases, and On-site Manager training.  During her tenure with First Merit Venture, Ms. Hunter supervised several major rehabs in excess of several million dollars.  Project Management included Roof replacement of all buildings, ADA compliance, major asphalt and concrete replacement.

 

After joining Diversified Realty Group in March 1996, Ms. Hunter was promoted to President in 1997.  Under her direction, the firm increased its fee management portfolio by more than 300%.  She was responsible for the oversight over more than 3,500 multi-family units which were financed under various programs, including:  Conventional/Market rate rentals & condominiums, Federally subsidized programs (HUD 202, HUD 236, HUD 221d3), Tax Credit properties financed by the Illinois Housing Development Authority and Public Housing (CHA & HUD).

 

In June 2001, Ms. Hunter assumed contracts from the outgoing Diversified Realty Group and established HSR Property Services, LLC.  Since this time, the portfolio of HSR has expanded by over 600%.

 

Ms. Hunter has a Bachelors of Science Degree from Ball State University and a Masters of Public Administration from Indiana University.  Ms. Hunter acheived the Certified Property Manager 'CPM' designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management and the CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations) Designation from CAI.  She additionally holds a Broker's License in Illinois.

  

  

 

TAKISHA ARTIS, CPA

 

CONTROLLER

 

Takisha Artis joined HSR Property Services, LLC in 2005 as Senior Accountant.  In 2007, Ms. Artis was promoted to Controller where she oversees the entire Accounting Department; including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable employees.

 

Prior to joining HSR, Ms. Artis obtained seven (7) years experience at the following Real Estate firms:  Equity Office Properties, CB Richard Ellis and Amli Residential Trust.  All three firms are large Fortune 500 companies in ChicagoMs. Artis performed as Senior Accountant at Equity Office Properties and CB Richard Ellis, where she was directly responsible for a portfolio of properties.  She prepared month end reports, conducted financial analysis, and worked closely with Property Managers.

 

Ms. Artis graduated from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois in 1999.  She was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Accounting.  In 2008, she completed all required coursework and examinations to successfully pass the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in the State of Illinois.

 

In her capacity as Controller at HSR, Ms. Artis critiques, establishes and monitors all General Accounting practices.  Each year she coordinates with independent auditors for the Audit of approximately ten (10) properties.    She oversees the year end closing of the financial books for all HSR properties and preparation of Income Tax returns.

 

 

 

 

MARTIN STONE, PCAM

 

VICE PRESIDENT, Homeowner Association Management

 

Martin Stone joined HSR Property Services, LLC in 2007.   Due to growth, a new position was created for Vice President of Homeowner Association Management.  Mr. Stone brings in excess of 8 years experience as Executive Vice President of Groebe Management Services of Palos Heights, IL.

 

In his capacity as Executive Vice President, Mr. Stone was responsible for a portfolio of approximately 3,500 Condominium and Townhome units.  He directly supervised a staff of 5 Property Managers.

 

Mr. Stone received the PCAM (Professional Community Association Manager) designation with the Community Association Institute (CAI) in 2011.  Additionally, he holds the AMS (Association Management Specialist) Designation and the CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations) Designation from CAI.

 

In his current position with HSR Property Services, LLC, Mr. Stone supervises a staff of 3 Property Managers.  Additionally he services a portfolio comprising our largest Homeowner Associations.
